We Are What We Create

We have welcomed so many family and friends from near and far to The Cedars Ranch the past few weeks, and the celebrations keep continuing! As SXSW started to kick off in Austin, so did our partying with our awesome team of architects!

The Acre, our original project architects from New Brunswick, Canada, recently won the prestigious award of the Professional Prix de Rome in Architecture. Part of that prize allowed them to travel as a team. The Cedars Ranch was part of their team trip! How lucky! We had such an amazing reunion and a super fun visit.

"The Acre is on the road. Our journey has us exploring tourism frameworks creating cultural sustainability in Atlantic Canada, Southwestern United States & Norway. It’s a bit of a dream that this Canada Council prize affords us the opportunity to gain first hand perspectives on themes relevant to our Storied Architecture practice, and encourages the development of artistic excellence in our contemporary architectural practice." ~ Monica Adair, The Acre (via Instagram @theacre)

Here's The Acre architectural team, led by Monica Adair and Stephen Kopp, pictured with our local project architect Jamie Crawley, HA Architecture. Also pictured, Kale Harper, Nilton Lin, Jill Higgins and Alicia Halas.

"Architecture can convey stories. In the end architecture is something that rethinks the way we see ourselves and the way we live our lives. The Acre believes – WE ARE WHAT WE CREATE – and the beginnings of The Cedars Ranch is a testament to the values of a team that espouses this way of living." ~ Stephen Kopp, Monica Adair and Kale Harper, The Acre (read more)

"I've been fortunate to spend some time with The Acre, recipients of Canada Council’s Prix De Rome and our cross border co-conspirators for the design in Wimberley that is nearing completion. Beautiful weather touring the ranch and the Hill Country today." ~ Jamie Crawley, HA Architecture (via Instagram @ha_architecture)

"It is rare to have deep design discussions of first nations, the spirit of a place, generosity, wellness, modern architecture and we find ourselves truly honored to join Marilyn, Bill, Stephen, Monica and Kale on this journey ~ Let us be one of the many to toast The Cedars Ranch as your adventure unfolds and we appreciate the opportunity to share a piece of this story with everyone." ~ Jamie Crawley, HA Architecture (read more)

Have you ever considered about adding a little bit more than just your articles?
I mean, what you say is valuable and all. Nevertheless just imagine if you
added some great visuals or videos to give your posts more, "pop"!
Your content is excellent but with images and videos, this website could certainly be one of the best in its field.

Excellent blog!

I'm really enjoying the design and layout of your blog.
It's a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more pleasant for me to come here and visit
more often. Did you hire out a designer to create
your theme? Great work!

Greetings! I know this is kinda off topic nevertheless I'd
figured I'd ask. Would you be interested in exchanging links or maybe guest authoring
a blog post or vice-versa? My website addresses a
lot of the same topics as yours and I believe we could greatly benefit from each other.
If you are interested feel free to shoot me an e-mail. I look forward
to hearing from you! Superb blog by the way!

This design is spectacular! You certainly know
how to keep a reader amused. Between your wit and your
videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well,
almost...HaHa!) Wonderful job. I really enjoyed what you had to say,
and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!

Hmm it appears like your website ate my first comment (it was super long) so I
guess I'll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I'm thoroughly enjoying your blog.
I too am an aspiring blog writer but I'm still new to everything.
Do you have any points for beginner blog writers? I'd genuinely appreciate it.
