This week we’re bringing you behind-the-scenes of the morning VIP section of our self-compassion event. Here's a glimpse into what you will experience ...

It's morning time in the Texas Hill Country, and our full-day VIP attendees are being welcomed to The Cedars Ranch. Ahh ... relax and welcome to The Cedars Ranch, and welcome to a beautiful day of personal growth, self-care and transformation ...

VIP Self-Care Gift Bags

During morning registration, each guest personally receives a special VIP gift bag packed with self-care goodies, thanks to some of our valued sponsors Austin Woman Magazine and The English Candle Company, to name a few (keeping some goodies a secret!).

Included in your gift bag will be everyday resiliency workbook "How Absorbent Are Your Shocks?" by Marilyn Orr (our morning resiliency workshop leader), and Amazon Bestseller and #1 New Release in Social Work "The Mindful Self-Compassion Workbook" by Dr. Kristin Neff (our afternoon keynote speaker) and Dr. Christopher Germer.

Our morning workshops kick off at 9am. With our morning VIP group being limited to 100 guests, our morning sessions will have a more intimate and interactive feel. You choose whether you want to start with our everyday resiliency workshop in our gorgeous new great hall, or our mindfulness meditation workshop in our cozy atmospheric event bar ...

A Practical Approach to Everyday Resiliency Workshop

Would you like to learn practical skills to increase personal resiliency? Be better able to bounce back from the stuff life throws at you? Join Marilyn Orr, executive and leadership coach with Capacity Building Coaching, co-owner of The Cedars Ranch, and author of everyday resiliency workbook "How Absorbent Are Your Shocks?" in this interactive (and sure to be fun) morning workshop. Marilyn's workshop will focus on exercises that increase resiliency from an emotional perspective, and she'll get you creating custom-built strategies for your own unique life. You will leave this session with a new appreciation for yourself and your own innate capacities, plus a practical resiliency strategy for moving forward in your life.

Mindfulness Meditation Workshop

Are you looking for enhanced inner clarity and a freshness of perspective? Perhaps you wish to learn more about the practice of mindfulness meditation, or deepen your already existing meditation practice. Neil Stegall from Mariposa Sangha will lead morning workshops in mindfulness meditation, dovetailing perfectly with Kristin Neff's mindful self-compassion approach that she'll share with us during her afternoon keynote presentation. Neil’s style is warm and exceedingly practical. You will leave equipped with the tools to harness the power of the present moment, and be able to incorporate meditation into your daily life.

Eco Lunch

We'll break at 12pm for an extended lunch break, gathering all guests back in our great hall. We'll have a short group coaching session reflecting on all the experiences of the morning - integrating all we learnt. Each VIP guest will receive a nourishing farm-to-table lunch, provided by our wonderful caterer Feast & Merriment, based here in the Texas Hill Country. Chef Ashley Odom will introduce you to the delicious meal you are about to enjoy.

Unplug | Relax | Enjoy

Interwoven throughout our morning will be opportunities to unplug, relax and enjoy nature here at The Cedars Ranch. We’ll have some quiet reflection zones, creative outdoor activities, as well as opportunities for native plant walks on our 20 acres of Texas Hill Country ranch land.

Our afternoon session then commences at 2pm, with keynote speaker Dr. Kristin Neff, pioneering researcher in self-compassion at the University of Texas. Dr. Neff will share her latest research on motivating ourselves with kindness instead of self-criticism, and share strategies to cultivate emotional well-being in our lives. More about her workshop "The Power of Self-Compassion" in a later blog post!

I absolutely love the sound of this event, the content, location and everything else. Unfortunately I have another commitment that day. I am a Soul Coach, Embodiment Facilitator and 500 level yoga leader. I congratulate this team creating this event and helping people discover self compassion while in nature which is very healing itself. If there happens to be something happening before the Apr 27 event or afterwards, I would love to be a part of it. I send positive energy that you will present passionately and this attending will have open hearts and minds. Be well. Joyce Brown

You obviously know what youre talking about, why throw away your
intelligence on just posting videos to your site
when you could be giving us something informative to read?

Woah! I'm really digging the template/theme of this site.
It's simple, yet effective. A lot of times it's very
hard to get that "perfect balance" between usability and visual appearance.

I must say you've done a awesome job with this.
In addition, the blog loads super fast for me on Opera.
Superb Blog!
