Come Join The Wimberley Garden Tour!

This week we're excited to announce that The Cedars Ranch will be featured in this Saturday's Wimberley Garden Tour! Presented by the Wimberley Garden Club, and joined by the Wimberley Valley Art League, The Cedars Ranch will be one of 7 “unique gardens” visited by participants on the annual tour of gardens in the Wimberley area.

Come join us for a wonderful day! For more information visit the Wimberley Garden Club website:

Let’s have a quick BEFORE and AFTER glimpse of our garden, just to see how far we’ve come!

This was the sorry state of our garden early last year! Nevertheless, we had vision (and courage!), and put our names in for the 2017 Wimberley Garden Tour!!

Here we are today! A totally remodeled garden space, complete with central gazebo and surrounding raised beds constructed with our own beautiful on-site stone and cedar posts. Super skilled and talented local stone mason Dario Camacho and permaculture crew Southern Exposure brought this to life. Thanks to Paige Dunlap who continues to nourish and nurture our garden and orchards!

Southern Exposure set up our raised beds with a drip-irrigation system, to ensure optimum water efficiency while our flowers and vegetables grow and flourish. Here you can see our irrigation system among our Asiatic lilies and Imperial stock.

We love the mixture of these pretty pansies with yummy greens like kale and swiss chard. Isn’t this bed of flourishing white Alyssum gorgeous too?

To help the flowers bloom, Paige spreads some bone meal on the soil – a natural and eco-friendly way to nurture our garden. It seems like our plants and visiting butterflies enjoy our green approach!

Perhaps we will see some of you this Saturday!

Until next week,

Marilyn & Bill.
