Our Logo Origin Story

Our Logo Origin Story

Did you know that our names, Marilyn and Bill, are included within The Cedars Ranch logo? They are inscribed in Celtic ogham script as the second and fourth ‘tree’ that you can see here within our logo design for The Cedars Ranch. Ogham is an ancient Celtic alphabet, where each letter is represented by a mark on a central vertical line.

So how did this come to be? Well herein lies a beautiful love story and perfect tale of synchronicity! After settling on the name "The Cedars Ranch" for our new event center in 2015, we were playing around with some logo ideas. We were envisioning something simple yet meaningful, involving the outline of trees. Then that very week, while scrolling through my Facebook homepage, there it was - the perfect template for our future logo! It was a Facebook post shared by Brenda, our (now) operations manager. She had just received an invite for her sister Siobhán's wedding in Ireland, and shared a picture of the wedding invitation card.

It was perfect! We instantly knew this was our new logo. We re-worked the existing design to include our names in ogham script, and hey presto - our new personalized logo for The Cedars Ranch. Thank you for the inspiration Siobhán and Mick Lee! How perfect that the logo for our new wedding venue and wellness retreat was born out of someone else's love and celebration. Siobhán and Mick married later that year in 2015 and now have a little boy Oisín who is about to turn 1 year old this weekend!

We look forward to the weaving of many more beautiful love stories into the fabric of The Cedars Ranch for many years to come.

Until next week,

Marilyn and Bill.
