It's January 2020 and we're right in the middle of engagement season here at The Cedars Ranch! We've been showcasing our brand new Texas Hill Country wedding venue at some of the biggest wedding shows in Texas, including the Bridal Extravaganzas in Austin, San Antonio and Houston, and on Sunday, January 19th, we welcomed newly engaged couples from near and far to come tour our venue here at The Cedars Ranch.
A huge thank you to all our wonderful vendors who participated in our Open House, making it an extra special experience for all our visiting couples. Photographers Kathryn and Jacqui from Cedar and Sage Studios joined us all the way from Houston, and captured some gorgeous shots of the venue and surrounding 20 acres during our special day of tours.
The morning started out cold but gloriously bright and sunny. We spread our bistro tables and chairs out on the plaza for guests to sit and enjoy the sunshine, while inside our event bar, Desert Door served delicious signature cocktails made from their unique Texas Sotol liquor, while Tina entertained guests with The Traveling Photo Booth!
Our high character event bar is a great location for cocktail hour or a creative bar setup. It opens onto our atmospheric tree-lined plaza, which has reception seating capacity for 200 - 250 guests amid our live oaks and cedar trees. With our great hall adjacent, couples commented on really loving the fluidity and adaptability of our indoor and outdoor spaces.
Being a wellness retreat as well as a wedding venue, we encourage our couples getting married here at The Cedars Ranch to incorporate wellness into their wedding day, so they can remain fully relaxed and present throughout their special day. Michelle DeCastro, yoga instructor and meditation guide based here in Wimberley, joined us as a vendor to demonstrate some simple meditation and yoga practices that she can share with couples the morning of their wedding.
Meanwhile in the main event space, our gorgeous light-filled and majestic great hall, guests enjoyed some barbeque from Wimberley-based Creekside Cookers BBQ and pretty floral displays from Wow Factor Floral.
Marquee Event Rentals provided us with a beautiful display of tableware for our large round reception tables in our great hall. A unique contemporary wedding and event space, our great hall has been intentionally designed to let guests enjoy the beauty of the outdoors while being inside. Couples commented that they loved the natural aesthetic of the space, and how nature does the decorating!
With reception seating capacity for 180 guests, our great hall's open-air slatted wall features allow the structure to cool naturally, and help guests feel immersed in the surrounding beauty of the Texas Hill Country. Now with retractable clear wall panels, pictured below, guests can stay warm while it's cold outside too!
Kevin with Complete Austin Weddings + Events was DJ for the day, and turning out some great beats in our hall! Also joining us also Coleman with Coleman Jennings Films, who has worked with us on previous events here at The Cedars Ranch.
"We had an incredible time and the venue is absolutely gorgeous." - Cedar and Sage Studios (our photographers for the day)
Our outdoor ceremony site is just a short stroll from our main venue campus, and serves as a dreamy location under these majestic live oak trees to tie the knot. These beautiful live-edge cedar ceremony benches seat up to 200 guests, and are included in our venue rental fee too!
Nestled within our organic flower garden, our gazebo is the ideal spot for a more intimate wedding ceremony. Couples love the idea of getting married encircled by those near and dear to them.
Our outdoor lounge and hanging tree seats are always a hit! We love that when couples book our venue, they get exclusive access to all facilities and amenities on our 20 acres, including some fun hidden gems!
"We loved y'alls space and how much y'all offer. It for sure makes y'all stand out from other venues. And that YURT! Goodness, I just want to move in! Looking forward to working with you!" - Cheyanne Astin, Touch of Whimsy
Our luxury eco yurt is a wonderfully unique option for dressing suite. Our yurt has plenty of space for morning of the wedding preparations, including a beautifully elegant open plan living area, kitchen and dining space, full bath with luxurious slipper tub, and private bedroom. What could make the yurt any better? Free massages of course! Thanks to Jillian and Alejandro from Live Love Relax for offering free chair massages to our touring couples. Building on our wedding wellness theme, Live Love Relax offer onsite mobile chair massage services for weddings.
"Thanks so much for having us out for your Open House - it was a blast!!" - Alejandro, Live Love Relax
All couples who joined us for our Open House were in with a chance to win a 2-night stay in our luxury eco yurt. And the Yurt Winner is ... (drum roll!) ... Francesca Alfarache! Congratulations Francesca!
