This week has been moving in week! What joy! While the yurt is still not fully completed inside, we have been making a lot of headway, and we're already reaping the benefits of our new "home"!
Perhaps not the most glamorous place to start this week, but still important; our yurt septic tank went in on Wednesday and passed inspection!
This week Bill and I became experts at IKEA assembly!!
Here's one of our completed IKEA bookcases volunteering as a pantry in our yurt kitchen right now ...
After working hard all week, it was time for some chilling out as we awaited the arrival of our new interior designers with a van full of goodies!
Here's Amy, Darby and John from Jameson Interiors unloading the van ...
While the yurt will be our home, we will also be renting it out. Amy and co. from Jameson Interiors are really helping us pull together an overall look and feel for the yurt.
One of the goodies they delivered was this gorgeous velvety ink blue sofa bed ...
While Gary, a new friend and amazing carpenter is transforming our king-sized bed to match items for the new yurt bedroom, we are sleeping on the new sofa bed and loving it!
As if this isn't all exciting enough, something momentous happened on Sunday! The beloved oven went live!
I baked my heart out all evening! A big thank you to the electricians who gave up their Sunday afternoon to make this happen!
Here's all that's left of my freshly baked oatmeal raisin cookies and bread ...
What’s next for the yurt? Well the drywall person is due this upcoming week to complete the walls. After it’s painted, the plumbers will come and finish hooking up all applicable items such as the water heater, fridge and install the toilet and bathtub. Then the electricians return to complete their work. Stay tuned for more momentous moments!!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Marilyn & Bill
