We started our week getting into the festive mood, decorating our yurt and surrounding trees with Christmas lights and ornaments. How fun! Little did we know that later in the week nature was going to provide us with her own type of Christmas decoration!
Look how cozy this scene looks! Here's the yurt nestled among our decorated trees, under the full moon …
Then on Thursday evening, a rare and beautiful thing occured here in the Texas Hill Country ... Snowfall!
While Bill and I are well accustomed to snow, it felt like such a novelty here at the ranch, that we went a bit crazy taking photos! (Definitely would not be doing this if I was still in Canada!!)
For all of you wondering if we stayed warm enough in our new yurt, the answer is a happy and resounding "yes"! We have a 3 ton mini-split system that provides air conditioning (for those hot Texan Summers), and heat (for those unexpected Texan snowfalls!).
For a Canadian, it was my perfect snowfall … gone the next day!
Wishing you all a beautiful festive season.
Until next week,
Marilyn & Bill.
