You wouldn’t know that you were standing in the same place from when AJ Tree Services started (in a forest dense with dead Cedar limbs) to a beautiful area highlighting the beautiful trees that are there. The change is dramatic. The area we had the team work on is where our cabin will be and we love how now we can picture what it will be like so much more easily!
As gardeners we have had so much fun watching things come up. We have found more herbs elsewhere on the land and had a nice surprise finding a huge rosemary plant that had grown behind a fence. Part of the fun in gardening is making your own compost. As long as I can remember my Dad had a compost pile. Fellow gardeners, imagine 20 acres of yard waste and what that can do for a compost pile! Dad would have been jealous :)
This week we were also grateful for an opportunity to visit another venue, thanks to “Agent Bill”. Bill (who did our aerial photography) and his wife Natalie graciously gave us a tour and wonderful tips at their venue the River Road Ranch Resort near Fredericksburg. www.riverroadranchresort.com/index.html
Solluna was with us this week too having the Pedernales Electric Cooperative and an electrician out in preparation for deconstruction and clean up which starts next week. As I write this Bill is busy at The Cedars coordinating the moving of the portable toilet, another day of cedar clearing and mulching and the work with the electrician setting up temporary power to a few places and the disconnecting of the power from the house and car port.
If you have a professional organizer in your life and are wondering what makes them very happy, I now have the answer. An empty filing drawer! As we dig in to all the work connected to both the building of and the running of a multi-purpose venue we are amassing a lot of important documentation. It was great to make Brenda’s day and it didn’t take long to have a very organized drawer full of files.
With the schematics by Acre nearly complete we will soon be able to give you updates on new things going up. So exciting!
We sign off this week so full of joy with new beginnings in our lives. The most exciting of these is that we are waiting with great anticipation for the birth of our first grand child. For us it is a season of growth, joy, beginnings and community. Whatever season you are in at the moment, we are grateful that you are joining us in this journey.
