Last week we shared some of our wellness vision. This week I want to talk about corporate and organizational wellness.
Most of our awake hours are spent between family and work. It is so critical to our well-being that we improve the quality of our work relationships.
All the dysfunction that we have learned in our families of origin we bring with us to our workplaces. Add to that, power structures and the stress of deadlines and goals and objectives, and work can be a very stressful and highly toxic environment.
Personally we talk about personal development or wellness. At work we use terms like culture change, value-based leadership, dysfunctions/functions of team, etc.
Here’s what we know - when we improve the quality of work relationships we also improve productivity, health of the organization, etc. So, as we focus on wellness as part of our vision here at The Cedars Ranch, it includes a passion for supporting organizations in moving forward strategically and in ways that support everyone’s best potential.
Most business owners and leaders already know that something different happens to your team when you take them “off-site” for sessions - be that for team building or strategic or operational planning. We are loving creating the best of environments here at The Cedars Ranch, that will foster creativity, open dialogue, relaxed communication, etc.
We will be able to offer spaces for larger groups, for example, in our dance hall ...
... and will have multiple small group or break-out spaces, including a conference room in our reception pavilion.
We can also support organizations with in-house executive and leadership coaching, through one of our sister companies, Capacity Building Coaching.
One thing I love hearing is the crossover that frequently happens - leadership clients telling me how much what they have learned has improved their personal relationship. Individuals working on personal growth that really allows them to be more effective at work. Love it. Looking forward to more of this wellness crossover and synergy when The Cedars Ranch is up and running!
Until next week,
Marilyn & Bill.
