Drywalling was the big thing going on this week! If you are familiar with yurts at all, you have probably mostly seen open plan yurts with no internal walls. As our yurt is a large "family-size" yurt, and we want it to be a fully functioning self-contained home, we need some internal walls to separate our restroom and kitchen area. So here we go!
Here's a sneak peek video inside the yurt before the drywaller arrives ...
Here's the new restroom wall getting sanded ...
We were back on painting duty! Here's the first coat of paint on ...
Our restroom is beginning to emerge! Don't our vanities look great?
Drum roll ... Our new bathroom tub!! This type of tub is called a "slipper tub", and is a perfect fit for the yurt. Plus, it’s so comfortable already!
Meanwhile, at the other side of the wall, things are coming together in the kitchen. Here are the kitchen cabinets being assembled ...
After installing our stove a few weeks ago, the electrician returned this week to finish the electrical work in the kitchen.
Inquisitive onlookers, Bo and Ninja, check out progress from the front door!
The big dog is Bo and belongs to Gary, our General Contractor. The little dog is Ninja and belongs to Joshua who was in charge of putting up the yurt. Cute, huh?
Keep tuning in!
Until next week,
Marilyn & Bill.
