12 Days of Painting!!

12 Days of Painting!!

Let me tell you all - it has been a busy busy week! We have been working from sun up to sun down, painting all the yurt boards. Whew! More about this later!

First, here's the decking going on earlier last week ...

We love that our builders did this creative workaround our trees. As a friend on The Cedars Ranch facebook page suggested, "It will be like living in a tree house without climbing the ladder! Awesome!" We love that!

As the yurt platform was being completed, we needed to make sure all the pieces for the next stage, the yurt construction, were ready to go. Here's a group selfie of Bill, Paige and I on the almost finished deck! At this stage we've been painting yurt boards for days and days!

What exactly were we painting that took us all that time?, I hear you ask.

Deep breath ... (imagine the following sung like the "12 days of Christmas"! lol) ...

48 rafter boards, each 16’ long,

with 1 coat conditioner,

2 white wash pickling,

and one protective finish coat,

2 lattice frames, totalling 94’,

with 1 coat conditioner,

2 white wash pickling,

and one protective finish coat,

And 1 large ring for the yurt dome!!

We are so grateful to Paige for all her hard work.

Here's the beginning of the yurt foundation being laid on the completed platform. It's all beginning to look more real now.

Stay tuned for further progress!

Until next week,

Marilyn & Bill.

Aw, this was an incredibly nice post. Spending some time and actual effort to generate a
really good article… but what can I say… I procrastinate a
lot and don't manage to get anything done.
